STICKER METHODIST CHURCH NEWS
On Thursday the 16th February, the ladies group of the church met together at the home of Sheila Lobb to celebrate their 60th Anniversary.
The afternoon was spent reading relevant poems and stories and reminiscing over the past years. Violet Hocking who was one of the original members of the group told us about her memories of the chapel and asked that we sang a couple of well – known hymns.
The afternoon finished with a birthday tea provided by members.
Meetings are usually held 4 times a year in the chapel Sunday school room.
On Sunday 19th February the congregation of Polgooth Chapel joined us for our morning service. The Rev L Barnes led the service and afterwards coffee/tea and biscuits were served in the Sunday school room.
The flowers for the chapel this week were donated by the St. Dorothea flower club and were arranged by two members of the flower club namely Val Seekings and Dorothy Wilson. The flowers looked lovely as can be seen by the pictures below and the members of the chapel are very appreciative of this gesture.
This year the Chapel ladies group, the Happy Circle, the St Dorothea Flower Club and Sticker W.I. all celebrate their 60th anniversary and we wish all members of these organisations the best for their celebrations and future meetings.
Our next fund raising event will be on March 17th when Brenda will be holding a soup and pudding lunch at her house. This event is good value for money and very tasty into the bargain. Well worth the £3.50. There will also be a raffle and a Bring and Buy stall. As always all are welcome and we look forward to seeing you on the day. Look out for the posters around the village and on the website.
Our morning services are held at 10.30 am every Sunday. If any different a notice is posted outside the chapel. We welcome anyone who would care to join us.
