AXE Factor 2010
Once again - the tickets were sold out even before the posters could go out to advertise the event. So, the football club, again hosting the evening, was full to capacity with an appreciative audience. This year there were eight acts - plus Carla at the beginning and again after the pasty supper interval.
This year the production was even more professional - compered again by JR with lights and music by Chris & James England. If you want to know more contact Tina on 01726 75844 and buy the DVD of the evening. All proceeds are going to Mount Edgcumbe Hospice.
Thanks go to all who supported the event, the background helpers and, of course, "the turns"
AXE Factor 2009
As a result of the highly successful first AXE Factor in 2008 it was decided to put on a show again in 2009. Last year the show was a sellout, so with the football club having been extended this year a further forty or so audience could be accommodated. despite this, all tickets were sold weeks in advance - so if you could not get a ticket - buy the DVD which can be ordered from Tina Barrett on 01726 75844. All proceeds will go to this year's charity - Mount Edgcumbe Hospice.
There were nine acts this year plus 2 special performances at the beginning and after the interval. Hot pasties were provided during the interval and the bar did sterling service throughout. Click on the video link top left of this page to see a couple of the acts - but if you weren't there and want to see the winners you'll have to buy the DVD.
Sticker Football Club provided the venue and compere for the evening was J.R.
Thanks go to all who helped make the evening such a great success.
This show is the latest one promoted by Sticker Village Association in conjunction with Carn to Cove. Carn to Cove is a registered charity aimed at spreading the arts to every corner of Cornwall and in particular bringing living professional theatre to village halls. This is done by subsidising productions in return for a percentage of box office takings.
Rogue Theatre
If you were not in Sticker Village Hall on Sunday evening the 21st October 2007 below is a snatch of what you missed!
An extremely acrobatic, versatile and slick group of performers from a Cornish theatre group.
From Sticker they were heading off to Unity Theatre in Liverpool, followed by Brighton, Cambridge and Maidenhead before continuing their nationwide tour in November
Rogue Theatre
On the 16th February 2008 Sticker Football Club provided the venue for the 1st Axe Factor charity evening to raise funds for Motor Neurone disease. The event was dreamed up and organised by Tina Barrett and friends and a packed house enjoyed an excellent evening's entertainment.
Ten acts took part and suffered the cutting remarks of three judges - but eventually the winner was announced - The Sleepy Girls (Veronica, Brigitte, Debbie and Amanda). Alongside are short video excerpts taken during the evening of two of the unsuccessful acts. If you want to see the winners and the other seven you will have to buy the DVD.
A total of £1020 was raised for the Motor Neurone Disease Charity. Many thanks to those who helped make this possible.
